Here are some of the testimonials provided by former Homestay students
Koji Ishikawa, Japan
Hi. All
I am Koji Ishikawa who is a Japanese guy. I had been in their homestay about 1 year when I was in Toronto. Everything was good memory for me because of their homestay. I am very thanks for Brenda and Larry. Their home stay is very at home. In addition food is really nice. I miss Brenda's meat pie and
beans curry very much. They are considerate of international students they have many experience with
many students from various country. I have no doubt you have a good time with them at Kamloops.
Poon, Thailand
First of all I liked the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the house in Toronto. Of course the surprising Tom-Yum-Koong and Kang-Kai that you cooked for Fon and I. When foreign students have to be away from home for a long time they miss their home country's food. I really missed Thai food at the time. Thanks for your nice surprise. I often read the English books in the bedroom when I was bored. They helped me with my everyday conversations. Last but not least, the warmth you guys gave me during my stay. I did not feel homesick. The stay in Toronto makes me wanna return to Canada again and again. Miss you always.
Juan, Spain
Hi there,
My name is Juan. I’m from Barcelona, and I spend almost one year in this house with Brenda and Larry. When I decided to study abroad for me was very important where to live. I had two options: to go to a residence or to live with a family. Finally, I decided to live in this house and for sure was one of my best elections. There is nothing that can replace neither your family nor your home when you are in another country, but during my stay in Kamloops I found a cozy and familiar atmosphere. The house combine a familiar atmosphere and the freedom of a residence. If you are going to stay in Kamloops and you are looking for a room for sure this is one of your best options. I wish you all the best in Kamloops.
Fumiko, Japan
I want to telll my precious experience what I had in Larry & Brenda's homestay.
First of all, they became my Canadian father and mother for me. Everyday I could talk with them in English.
They often correct my English and I could learn it. This was very good for me that I can communicate my feeling and experience with them. I'm sure I could improve my communication skill with this homestay.
I also could make some friends in homestay. I think this is rare situation that people from another countries can make friendship and talk each other in English. I also could learn another countries (people and customs)in that homestay. I love the weekend! Larry often cook a lot of pancakes and crispy bacon on morning with singing La La La~♪♪ That was delicious!! Everybody sit around the table and enjoy pancakes and bacon and chatting.
Also in the evening, we often had a steak party or Sushi party with many friends. I can still remember that everybody's smiling face, and enjoy chatting and learning each other.
I and Larry often enjoy Canadian beer and sometimes vodka♪
I and Brenda often enjoy sweet chocolate and tea....♪
These are just some experiences in my homestay in Canada. I can't forget this stay with them forever.
This became my precious experience in my life.
Sang-mi, South Korea
Hello, my name is Sang-mi from South Korea. I was one of the international students who had lived in Toronto with Brenda and Larry for 6 months. I feel so happy to introduce my homestay experience to you. Before I went to Canada, I worried about so many things such as food, language, and different culture. However, thanks to Brenda and Larry, I could make my life full of happiness. They cared about me like my parents and always made me feel comfortable to stay at home. Although I had different culture, they tried to understand me and helped me learn what Canadian culture is. I cannot forget about the delicious food they cooked for me. Brenda is a good cook who made different kinds of food with Larry for our homestay students. We enjoyed eating the dishes while having a conversation in English. Also, one thing I appreciated was I could eat Kimchi which is Korean traditional food at every meal. I think it showed how much they cared about me. Also, they invited my friends on holidays and sometimes threw surprising barbecue parties in the backyard. It was really exotic and excited to live with them, and that is why I can't forget about the life, memories and good roomates in my homestay. If you are looking for a homestay in Kamloops, I really want to recommend you to stay here.
